We encourage North Alabama counties to identify all the resource providers in their communities. Unfortunately, most communities (as a whole) are not fully aware of their abundant, but often unrecognized, wealth of local resources.
Resources can come from charities, churches, food banks, healthcare providers, government, and more. Also, many civic-minded associations and businesses often provide scholarships, charitable services, and opportunities that support social and economic well-being.
Public access to the Community Resource Directory is FREE — made possible by local sponsors which will be featured on the directory's website for everyone to see. This service is a great companion for 2-1-1 Helplines and CharityTracker™ Networking Technology, which syncs with the Directory and avoids double-entry.
Get on the same page to begin sharing resources, facilitate collaboration, and help more people, faster.
The NARN Resources Directories are just a click away from Alabamians easily finding help when they need it most.
Organizations manage their own account to ensure information remains accurate and available when it matters.
Everyone in your community is more aware of the vast amount of available local resources that can transform their lives.

community resources directory for Tyler, TX
We partnered with the United Way of Danville Area, OSF Community Resource Center, and the City of Danville (IL) to launch their directory in Vermilion County, Illinois.
VIEW DIRECTORY"The Community Resource Directory has already made a significant impact on clients in crisis seeking help. Through the collaboration of our service providers in the area, we created a central directory used by both clients and agencies to mobilize the resources and caring power of our community. Every city needs this!"
Community Resource Directory can be valuable and practical tool for the following:
The North Alabama Resource Network will have local representatives in each county who coordinate area-wide bulletins and alerts for their local communities. These reps can work together with other county reps to coordinate regional bulletins and alerts across North Alabama — all at the same time.
Community Resource Directory helps ensure that everyone is "on the same page" with reliable information and communication — which all happens in real-time. All of this can complement existing channels of communication; and perhaps, create more inclusive and broadly-distributed communication throughout each county and across North Alabama.

Technology development, hosting, and free tech support are provided by Simon Solutions, Inc. — an Alabama company and nationwide leader in networking technology. This company develops community impact solutions — at work in over 2.500 cities in 49 states. They are the makers of CharityTracker™ (care/resource networking), OasisInsight™ (exclusive for Feeding America food banks), and Community Resources Directory™.
Each county will have its own local Network representatives. This can be a staff person of a city/county official's office, helping agency, or civic organization. This administrative role, which can be shared, is needed to ensure that resource providers (those who post information in the directory) are credible helping agents in the community. And, the local reps are responsible for ensuring that every resource provider manages their own listing and constantly updates information about their available resources.
To ensure that all North Alabamians have FREE access to the Network Community Resource Directories, low-cost technology expenses will be equally shared by 16 counties. Each county will pay a one-time setup fee to develop customizations unique to their county. After that, each county pays a small annual fee — includes service, maintenance, and FREE tech support.
Each county can easily cover this cost through local sponsors — businesses, foundations, or civic organizations. Their names/logos are displayed, for everyone to see, on the Community Resource Directory and the North Alabama Resource Network website.
